Overview

The lobby mural was created to symbolically communicate important themes central to GSBS Architects. The art visually portrays the disciplines of architecture, landscape, interiors, urban planning, and the environment. Traci’s imaginative symbolic portrayal of the importance of their vision creates a memorable work of art in their lobby space of their office.

Goals

The goal of the mural was to enhance the lobby space by visually portraying the values and mission statement of GSBS, an award-winning architectural firm. The elements in the art symbolically convey creative innovation and design excellence, highlighting the importance of people, environmental awareness, and sustainability in a stylized interpretation in Traci’s signature style. The mural communicates the firm’s vision and as well as who they aspire to be.

Process

Traci was contacted by GSBS to discuss the criteria for the mural. A budget was determined, retainer accepted, and the initial creative work began. Traci learned more about the core values, mission and vision of GSBS then started conceptualizing a symbolic visual portrayal. She presented the design direction for the mural including a color presentation for the design. Traci and her team painted the mural on site with brushes and rollers using high quality interior acrylic latex.
