Overview
Doors, 6'w x 16' h, overall opening, 12'x16'. Project consists of 12, 36″x36″ panels in Mahogany with maple and gold leaf accents.
Goals
As the only figurative art in this church, the doors had to combine elements of theology, welcoming, teaching, and mission. Because Trinity Episcopal is a center for interfaith activity, they also had to speak to an ecumenical audience.
Process
The parish committee proposed a theme of biblical references to the Trinity for these doors which were originally envisioned by the architect. I developed a theologically and liturgically oriented design and arrangement approved by the parish.
