Client: Holy Family Church

Overview

We were commissioned to design a custom tabernacle for a church in Newark, DE to replace the original tabernacle that was recessed into the wall at a location that no longer worked for the space.

Goals

The new tabernacle was to be designed to complement the existing stained glass windows and the have a similar luminescent quality.

Process

We worked with glass suppliers and bronze fabricators to find just the right aesthetic effect for this project. A great deal of coordination was required to get such a light piece to function properly and provide a safe place for the Eucharist.
