Overview

Designed by Wayne Design Group for the Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center exterior, this kilnformed glass water feature, measuring 36″ x 78″ x 108.5,” is a tremendous example of a successful exterior application of kiln-glass, Bullseye Studio's strength in working with others to meet design challenges, as well as the healing capacity of movement, art, sounds of nature, and water.

Goals

The goals of this project were to successfully place an evocative water feature made of glass in an exterior setting and to have it withstand UV and other environmental conditions while retaining strength, full color saturation, and remain a stunning and healing water feature in the healthcare landscape.

Process

Working with the designer, Bullseye Studio fabricated twelve panels, each specially designed for the water to cascade precisely from one 4" glass slab to the next, as well as to achieve full color saturation and color placement as specified by the designer. The total undertaking required partnering with an engineer, a stoneworker, a fountain specialist, contractors and others in the trade.
