Overview
I addressed the effects of climate change using glass. I chose Glaciers as the the subject to show the effect climate change has on the environment. The collectors who appreciate my work appreciated this departure from other materials I have used.
Goals
I created a wall sculpture that is displayed in a frame as a painting. The glass is cold worked and etched.
Process
I was approached to create a piece that would focus on environmental awareness. My work incorporates many materials including glass.
Additional Information
My interest in light as a life source led me to explore glass as a means of expression. The effects which transparency and light can add to the beauty of sculptural form opened an extended range of expressive possibilities. The materials I use to convey a subject contribute greatly in the experience of the viewer. There is a parallel process in interpreting the form, and the material used to express it.
