Overview
The concept was simple, a 7.5 foot piece of white fan coral that was not more than 4.5 inches off the wall. It had to be light weight, totally durable and of course beautiful. It is all laser cut aluminum powder coated. Had to have no sharp edges and extremely secure mounting system.
Goals
It was Hawaii, so it fit right in, at the entry desk so it had to make a simple but effective impact.
Process
The real trick was to produce a file that could be used by my fabricators. This was and event. Thousands of holes and each had to be perfect. About 8 stages of file types. Maintaining the continuity and look of coral with a balance.
Additional Information
I have to work very directly with the installers because if the type of wall it went on. They needed exact weight and placement of the piece with detailed instructions and pictures. It was a one shot install and it had to work first time.
