Overview
Two engaging bronze owl sculptures invite imaginative play and interaction, evoking elements of nature in the heart of San Francisco. Children to peer through the sculptures, literally and figuratively seeing the world through the birds’ eyes. Highly durable sculptures are integrated with native plantings in this urban public park.
Goals
The goal was to create highly durable sculptures that invites hands-on interaction and imaginative play, engaging the many children who play in this public park. WOWHAUS worked closely with the landscape architects, integrating sculptures with native plantings and pathways to create an immersive experience, evoking the spirit of nature within an urban park in the heart of San Francisco.
Process
Wowhaus collaborated closely with San Francisco Parks Department, Public Art Commission, Landscape Architects and community stakeholders in developing this site-responsive commission.
