Overview

FLOW is a smart wall composed of hundreds of ventilators that interact with visitors passing by. Through walking by and interacting with the wall, visitors trigger an illusive landscape of transparent fields and artificial wind.

Goals

Measuring several square meters in size, the most recent version of FLOW heightens the visitor’s consciousness into a collective body becoming one with space and technology.

Process

This project was awarded the Dutch Design Award in the category of Best Autonomous Spatial Design. FLOW is officially part of the 21c Museum Art Collection USA.

Specifications:

2007-2013. Modular system of several square meters fitted with hundreds of ventilators, aluminium, sensors, electronics, software, and other media.
