Overview
Eiko Ltd. Includes a green leaf in it'scorporate logo. I have been blowing patterned glass and cutting shapes and fusing the glass together. I proposed using the Eiko Leaf as part of my art glass for their corporate office.
Goals
The architect and designer wanted to come up with a way to show the corporate identity without being too "corporate". I had been exploring the fusing process to create large scale work, I also realized that I could create graphics through cutting and fusing. The design I came up with especially appealed to the owner as it had an "organic feel".
Process
The interior architect was especially helpful to me as I don't have CAD or large format printing. She made me the CAD and the paper templates from our sketches. I used these to water jet cut the glass.
Additional Information
I believe that fusing my blown glass is an innovative approach to glass art. The architect, designer and owner felt the same way. I really appreciate this opportunity they gave me.
