Overview
Depiction of the joy of free flight in a small aeroplane – a tribute to Charles James Melrose, an Australian aviator.
Flight is the result of extensive research, input from the client, and architects and clandestine consultations, engagement and research carried out in the locality.
Polished stainless steel, 3.2 metres high. Located in private residential development Melrose Park, Sydney, NSW.
Goals
Satisfaction of a percent for art program as a condition of development application consent by local Government. The goal was to make known a forgotten past aviation hero after whom the housing development was named.
