Overview
Media: Fused glass and stainless steel.
Dimensions: 48″w x 48″h x 3″d.
Working with a private art collector and their interior designer, Barbara Westfall Art Glass Design was commissioned to create a work of art for their newly remodeled home with large windows overlooking a public botanical garden. Together we selected a botanical theme, using blue, red and purple fused glass to create an oversized flower, with a stainless steel plant branch. The art ensemble is built in 2-parts: the large fused glass flower and a laser-cut, hand-brushed stainless steel branch with smaller glass blooms. Both attach directly to the wall using stainless steel standoffs.
Goals
The goal was set to create a unique work of art that featured an oversized garden flower, as the clients home overlooks a beautiful public botanical garden.
Process
Glass flowers and leaves can be ordered in a wide variety of custom sizes and colors and can easily be arranged on walls in any orientation. See concept photos at left depicting larger botanical arrangements for clients seeking to fill large-scale walls for public spaces.
