Overview

The clients wanted abstract visuals for the their bedroom. They chose images from my Series of Roman Craftsmen. These are were taken in a Silversmith Laboratory. Argento 1 and Argento 2 are are approximately 16″ by 20″ each. They were both taken while the Silversmith was actually working on the silver!

Goals

The clients, both pure Italians, love their country and especially the Craftsmen. They wanted their wall to represent their Italian Artistic Heritage. They chose these particular images of silver in 'action'.

Process

As I said above the clients are very sensitive to the world of Italian Craftsmanship, which is slowly disappearing. They also wanted images that we sensual, abstract and exciting to the eye without being overly colorful. While both images were taken in color, the black and white of silver resounds.

Additional Information

The first image Argento 1 is of the Silversmith hammering the silver, therefore the movement. The second image is of the Silver Drill!! There are so many other images that I have of this Italian world, Rome, Bologna, Pietro Santa (spectacular images taken in a cast-iron foundry) and the work of other craftsmen, jewelery, chocolate, silver, restoration (ceramic, porcelain, dolls) .
