Overview
9/11 Memorial depicting three life size emergency responders rescuing a survivor from the 9/11 terriorist attack on the World Trade Centers. Also included is an original I-Beam from one of the towers. The sculpture is Stainless Steel casting and is installed in Tampa, FL and was dedicated September 11, 2014.
Goals
The goals of this designed Public Art was to represent all the Emergency Responders during the 9/11 terriorist attacks. The Hillsborough County Sheriffs Office in Ybor City commissioned a 9/11 Memorial to be installed along with an original I-Beam they received from one of the towers for their Memorial Park in Tampa Fl.
Process
The collaboration between the artist Becky Ault of ART Design Group and the foundry, ART Research Enterprises consisted of Becky Ault sculpted the figures traditionally out of Clay, which depicted the original Uniforms of the responders and ART Research completed the casting of the figures and debris by producing a rubber mold, wax pattern and Stainless Steel casting. The metal finish was a satin finish with sealant. ART Research collaborated with ART Design Group on the installation of the sculpture in Tampa, FL.
