Following the major transformation at the 5 star hotel, the Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth Hotel by Ivanhoé Cambridge, MASSIVart was appointed to acquire and integrate artworks as a part of the hotel’s permanent art collection, as well as shine a spotlight on emerging artists. Working in partnership with Sid Lee Architects, MASSIVart was hired to curate the art collection, including custom work for the venue’s restaurant, bespoke installations for creative meeting rooms and signature artwork for the front lobby amongst many other common spaces in the landmark hotel. MASSIVart handled all sourcing, artist management and the installation of each piece.
The client's aim with this project was to differentiate and enhance their customer experience, elevate the decor and highlight the interior design with art in the space,
use art as a corporate investment and in general increase occupancy.
The result was an art collection that expresses the brand’s DNA and delivers a long-term investment alongside an aesthetic and experiential richness that provides a unique and lasting legacy.
Additionally, to add an element of surprise, we pitched a unique experiential concept for the famous Suite 1742 where John Lennon Yoko Ono held their iconic Bed-In for Peace in 1969.
