Overview
Faces of the Movement is a daily-release photo project that highlights the stories of everyday people who have joined together to fight for justice against police brutality in the United States.
Goals
Faces of the Movement responds to the social unrest and array of issues that arose following the shooting death of Michael Brown, a teenager in Ferguson, MO. As activists, protestors, and community members suffered trauma from online trolling, media marring, on-going physical threats by local police, Faces of the Movement provided a creative platform that highlights and celebrates the stories and beauty of the many people who continue the pursuit of justice within the Ferguson and great St. Louis communities.
Process
Charles Wade, organizer and Director of Operation Help or Hush, serves as the creator and curator of the project. Attilio D'Agnostino photographs all of the portraits featured in the on-going body of work. De Andrea Nichols, Creative Director of Civic Creatives, serves as the web designer, branding and graphics developer, and social media manager for the project.
Additional Information
Faces of the Movement will continue until August 9, 2015, the one year marker of the shooting death of teenager, Michael Brown, in Ferguson, MO.
