Overview

This installation involved taking (5 ) recycled 108″ x 108″ polypropylene mesh blankets and tensioning them over 12' posts with twine, and vinyl chord. This temporary installation is meant to emulate waves and clouds and serves as a sketch model for a more permanent idea

Process

The artist coordinated with the owner of a large apple orchard business along a town line in both Geneva, NY and Seneca as an important delineation to metaphorical idea. The ideas deal with weather relations in planted apple orchard systems and pays homage also to entomological bug traps shaped similar, but much smaller in scale to these forms. The science of an apple orchard is the interplay to this installation and the orchard owner was willing to allow the artist to explore a schematic design in this space.
