Overview

I designed and painted a mural for the front facing 12×100' exterior wall of Daniel Boone Elementary School in the Bay Terraces community of San Diego, CA. Imagery was to include Daniel Boone and his dog, along with the themes of exploring, imagination, education, and diversity. With an emphasis on Latin America and Africa to reflect the cultures of a large portion of the student population and local community.

Goals

I specialize in brining my clients ideas to life in the form of large scale commissioned murals. The goal of this mural was to have a profound impact on the community and bring students and faculty together. My goal was to share my love and passion for art with the community and in the process inspiring many young students to follow their dreams.

I believe that the cultivation of smart, skilled, conceptually rich and beautiful art is essential for the health and development of individuals and communities.

Process

The first step in my process is to work with my client to figure out their goals and concepts for the project. Second, I create 2-3 designs, keeping in mind the clients goals while including my own artistic ideas. I then work with my client to refine and perfect the design. I then prepare blue prints to scale and mathematically layout the design. The last step is to clean, prime then paint the mural covering it with a protective, anti-grafiti ensuring a long lasting beautiful mural.
