Overview
These two hand-glazed ceramic and smalti mosaic murals are abstract images that blend several sciences together and honor the intent of the architecture of the EWU Interdisciplinary Science Center building. The mosaic was inspired by the inside of a geode, the strata of folding earth, mapping and cells. The smaller upper mural (9′ x 16′) echoes the lower mural (12′ x 16′)- giving an impression of reflection, inverting the colors, playing with the light quality. A visual nod to the eye and brain relationship.
