Overview
The glass installation is located inside the lounge of the Spa at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Toronto, Canada. The installation consists of 259 hand blown glass discs suspended from the ceiling via a metal armature. The overall size of the installation is 2.75m X 12m. The glass is coloured in calming, neutral, translucent colours and every disc is gently curved to create subtle movement.
Goals
Design and create a large-scale decorative ceiling installation with hand blown glass for Spa at the Ritz-Carlton, Toronto.
Create a visually interesting decorative element that will complement the overall design theme of the site while functioning as a light diffusing screen from the skylight above.
