Overview
Hand blown glass created in Holdman Studios hot shop. We created unique lighting for 3 areas in their building. The staircase chandeliers comprised of 48 panels of glass-blown / fused glass assembled into cylinder measuring 24" in diameter. The lunch room chandelier was comprised of 42 hand-blown glass platters. The conference room chandelier was comprised of 14 hand-blown glass panels.
Goals
Doterra wanted to convey multi-colored lighting that represented energy and yet had somewhat of an organic feel. They are a company that extracts oils from plants so art glass was a perfect choice as it served to bring light and color to their beautiful new building, in addition to reflecting organic shapes that are similar to plant life.
Process
We met with the doTerra staff and they gave us their ideas and hopes for the project. Then our Holdman Studios designers came back to them with drawings and sample glass for them to envision our ideas for the various spaces they wanted lighting. Once the final design was chosen, we proceeded to create these huge, glass chandeliers, hand-blown in our hot shop. We also created each individual platter in our hot shop and positioned them together to create an overall light fixture for their conference room. We created the project from beginning to end, including installation.
Additional Information
Holdman Studios takes pride in offering our clients the option of incorporating glass-blown items into the installations we create. Anything glass is how we speak through glass to our client. Doterra was thrilled with the results.
