Overview

„die welle“ is a highlight in regards of urban development, it was designed by the renowned architectural office “schneider+schumacher ”. Finished in 2016, it is now standing at Leerbachstraße 7, in #Frankfurt ´s Westend, near “Alte Oper”.
Arnold developed the construction of the ensemble of the seven sculptural components, based on the artistic design. Real production data was generated, through parametric planning. On this basis 100 tons aluminum-panels were manually formed.
“die welle” is a construction, which carries itself through the aluminum skin. Meaning it does not have a supporting metal steel structure, inside of the sculpture.
The sculptural elements were produced in about 19.000 hours of work, in our branch in Thuringia. The transport was a real challenge. We had to take a heavy goods transport vehicle, to Frankfurt.
