Client: Deloitte University

Overview

This painting is a commission for a meeting space at Deloitte University in Westlake, Texas, just outside of Austin. The painting was inspired by the colors of labradorite and is 40″x40″, ink on Claybord wood panel. I was provided several photo references for color so that the artwork would flow well with the space. I was also provided an inspiration piece for reference from my own image archive with a specific painting style the client preferred.

Goals

The goal was to create a piece that would bring the space together in both color and overall design. I feel I achieved that goal in the end.

Process

I first developed a color palette and provided swatches for approval. Then, I supplied a number of small composition studies that I would use to create the larger and final work. The painting was carefully finished and shipped to be framed at the warehouse before it was then delivered to the client and professionally installed. The whole process took about 6-8 weeks or so once the order was placed.
