Overview
20’x 17’x 17′
Aluminum, stainless hardware
This wind-driven, kinetic sculpture, located in front of the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center in Charleston, WV, honors trees with its graceful, irregular movements.
Goals
In developing this design, I aimed to animate the space in front of the convention center and to reference the focus of the Briar Hills Garden Club, who sponsored the project.
Process
In designing and fabricating this sculpture, I was in ongoing conversation with a representative of the Briar Hills Garden Club and the city public art program.
