Overview

This project is a public space in the lobby and foyer located in a high-end residential area in the center of Shenyang. It is the only way for the residents of this community to go home. The designers hope to use the “Chinese courtyard” as the design concept to create a spiritual homeward journey.

It adopts the courtyard style design method of “three-entry home” in traditional Chinese architecture to create a public space with a three-entry model of the outer court—inner courtyard-inner house.

Outer court-lobby and gallery space. The installation art “Bamboo Sound” combines the gentleman’s temperament of bamboo and stands in the form of a light-emitting device. This device not only satisfies the decoration, but also is full of cultural and artistic atmosphere, conveying Chinese traditional culture.

Inner courtyard-promenade, the process of spiritual precipitation. The water promenade symbolizes the road to return home. The five garden elements of the bridge, pool, gable, tea room, and plum blossom shape the courtyard space and scene. The overwhelming sceneries take away the bothering of the mundane world. The dazzling scenery is the euphemism of objects and mood.
