Dialogue. Hanging blown glass sculpture used as feature lobby artwork.

Goals

The placement of the artwork was considered from several perspectives in the building. It was decided with the interior designer that the major impact views were from a second story cafe area and adjacent conference rooms.

Process

The Art Company of Cincinnati, OH contacted the artist early in the construction phase to facilitate integration of the art into the building. Several possible design concepts were considered. The artist then worked closely with the construction team, glass engineer, and fabricator to precisely place anchor points in the ceiling for the sculpture.
Made with mouth-blown glass and fired vitreous enamels at Derix Glasstudios.
