Overview

Managed the selection, acquisition and curation of art collection for an innovative company center which serves as the administrative and educational hub for over 120,000 employees worldwide. Manufacturers of electrical components for diverse industries, including aerospace, aviation, transportation, solar and wind energy solutions, amongst others, they sought artwork that would inspire the many employees, guests and visitors from around the world and showcase the companies imagination, creativity, and values of respect for the health and welfare of their employees environment. Over 800,000 sq. ft. of interior space on 55 acres of land.

Goals

To find artwork that reflected the diversity of this company's global reach and serve to inspire and nurture its climate of forward thinking solutions and interests.

Process

I presented over 200 artists who I believed would be great candidates for inclusion in the project. The head of the project narrowed the artists down to what became 60 artists from 22 countries. The architects involved in the project gave input in the selection process, in particular for the monumental sculpture in the front of the building and key atrium piece. Of the 100 artworks on display, over 20 were commissioned to create site specific work, some of which were 25 ft - 50 ft. long and required two years to create.

Additional Information

I supervised the creation of a 150 page book of the collection, providing the artists' resumes, biographies and statement about the work are in the collection, as well as a brochure that illustrates and explains the same. All which serve to better educate the viewer and raise their awareness and understanding of the outstanding collection in all of the corridors and public spaces of the building.
