Goals
The goal was to integrate artwork into Westwood Park that would celebrate the community, instilling a sense of pride and ownership for the park.
The solution was to include a participatory community engagement component through development workshops to encourage community design direction and possible hands on artwork component.
The final artwork respectfully reflects the cultural diversity and history of the neighborhood while accenting the updated park pollinator theme.
The project includes a community created seat-wall mural accenting the sculpture. The yellow running through the mural panels represents the thread that binds and connects us all.
