Goals
This artwork was inspired by Rockville's strong family values; the multicolored glass disks symbolize the City's diversity. The artwork is located at the City's east entryway on Atlantic Blvd.
Process
The project was a collaboration between the developer, land planner and landscape architects to create Town Square's iconic focal gathering place.
Additional Information
The sculpture reflects the joy of people uniting to create their community. ColorPlay is inspired by Rockville’s historically strong family foundation. The sculpture’s meaning and energy reflect the joy and vitality of people coming together to create, work and play in their community. The ColorPlay’s cotemporary, sleek, stainless-steel figures evoke the timeless traditions of people joined together across generations in work and play. ColorSphere’s multicolored glass disks symbolize the City’s diversity and look forward to the array of life’s challenges as opportunities for growth.
