Goals
Color Field is an original temporary work commissioned by the City of Austin for AIPP Tempo 2018. The installation consists of fiberglass rods rooted in the earth like an exotic crop. Color Field symbolizes the resilience of the Montopolis community, the cultural bounty that its residents bring, and the ability to come back stronger and more vibrant with each new challenge. Like a crop that keeps giving despite environmental hardships, Color Field is a commentary on seeing the glass half full and hopes to reward audiences with an abundance of color and an element of surprise.
