Overview
This project was a 3-week installation followed by 1-week of exhibition in the Randall Education gallery of the de Young Museum. Approximately 1500 sq. ft. space equipped with clear projection screens playing video animations and physical installation of found and fabricated objects.
Goals
This was a temporary exhibit funded by the de Young Museum.
Process
As the artist I installed the majority of the project myself with the aid of volunteers who were directed to add materials in specific way.
Additional Information
"City of Gold" is a metaphorical map of the Bay area that reflects the gold rush culture and fetishization of shiny things.
