Overview
Chromasis was commissioned by the Donor Network of Arizona. ( This company connects people with
the lifesaving gifts of organ donation, tissue and eyes. ) The sculpture is made of 115 ellipse shapes
that are mounted on a wall measuring about 24’ tall x 60’ long.
Goals
My goal was to create a sculpture that reflects the symbiosis between the donor and the recipient.
A colored ellipse shape that projects it’s complimentary color on the wall. The two are therefore connected forever.
Process
Dichroic film was adhered to 1/4” acrylic sheet. Hundreds of elliptical shapes were were laser cut
and mounted to the wall with custom stainless steel hardware allowing for individual articulation.
