Overview

Super Natural Video Installation featured in Public Art Immersive Installation for ArtServe’s “Changing Landscapes: Art Interventions for a Planet in Crisis” Group Exhibition. “Changing Landscapes” features multi-media artwork that promotes environmental awareness and sustainable practices and/or explore threats to local and global environments. In keeping with the 2021 Earth Day theme of “Restore Our Earth”, the exhibition imparts a sense of urgency in addressing the negative human impact on South Florida’s fragile ecosystem.

Goals

Super Natural Video Installation was created entirely on location working with the elements of wind and natural light, as well as, working with eco-friendly materials. The fog of color was created in each set of locations over a five-month period. As the color lifts and fades way, I am reminded of the impermanence of life & the healing power that springs forth with change.

Process

I collaborated with Curator, Sophie Bonet, on the installation of Super Natural in the immersive room installation. As Sophie Bonet states, "Through 'Changing Landscapes', we want to celebrate climate solutions and ecological sustainability initiatives, as well as show how humanity must be anchored & connected to the natural environment in a social, philosophical, economical & spiritual way".
