Overview
Welcoming visitors to the main entrance of the Methodist Richardson Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, the 12 foot tall, hand painted metal leaves of “Cascading Leaves” sweep across the lawn, creating an inspiring, thought-provoking atmosphere.
Goals
This sculpture was designed specifically to fill the large lawn space at the entry of the Methodist Richardson Medical Center. The artwork needed to be weather resistant so there was special consideration in the type of material and finish used. With a large space to work with, the pieces work well in a large scale, reaching as high as 12 feet, which makes them easily visible from the upper floors of the Hospital.
Process
Matthew collaborated with Charles White from Skyline Art Services to develop the concept for "Cascading Leaves".
