Overview

Connections, an ongoing series of oil paintings. At this time the house has eight paintings from this series, ranging in size from 36″ x 12″ to 48″ x 72″. All are oil on linen with about half being on unprimed linen. Leaving the background raw allows a greater connection with and relation to the natural world.

Goals

The house in Patterson Heights, South West Calgary, was completely redone inside. As the space has a stretch of curtain wall, lots of oversized windows, and two skylights, and it backs on to a park, it was decided to use the walls as a way to bring nature inside. All the work references the human connection with trees and natures.

Additional Information

The work is part of an ongoing series. As new paintings become available they will be added to the space, expanding and emphasizing the philosophies and beliefs of the owners.
