Overview

I created this set of 8 dining chairs and the glass table. The idea came from a Tulip flower in its blooming stage. The back of each chair is curved and angled as if it is continuously in its blooming stage. It was important to mimic the flower and to make the chair feel very comfortable. I was pleased with the design and my client loved both the look and feel. The level of comfort I was able to achieve was very satisfying.

Process

I designed and built the 8 chairs over the course of 6 months. I created preliminary designs, and determined with my client the right size and placement for the table.

Additional Information

I now have the ability to work with a factory who can reproducing these chairs. This set of chairsc can be made with Douglas Fir or Maple with Purple Heart or Mahogany seat and inlays. The wall sculpture in the background is my work as well.
