Overview
Bouquet is an unusual arrangement, portraying not a collection of flowers, but fully-grown trees. This large-scale projection (20.5 x 15 feet) upends the traditional notion of a delicately fixed centerpiece, reimagining it as an immense, living gift.
Goals
This visually alluring work recalls perhaps our most universal offering. Giving a bouquet is a layered and changeable gesture, it can be a welcome greeting, a gift of congratulations, a display of gratitude, or even a call for reconciliation. In this way, Bouquet parallels the dynamic relations at the American Consulate in Guangzhou .
Process
Bouquet is currently on view at the American Consulate in Guangzhou, China as part of the collection at the U.S. Department of State's Art in Embassies program.
