Overview
Fabrication of 9'H x 14'W Sculpture in Cor-Ten Steel designed by enlarging the maquette and producing patterns for cut out of sections to fabricate the sculpture.
Goals
The goal between the Artist vision and ART Research fabrication was to enlarge the "Bouquet" from a smaller Maquette to the 9' High Sculpture that the artist was asking for.
Process
ART Research took measurements from the artist provided maquette and enlarged each section to match a 9' H Sculpture. Once the dimensions were completed the ART Research technician cut out patterns of each section out of material that would be sustainable. With the patterns we cut the shapes from the Cor-ten Steel Sheets. Once all the sections were cut out in metal the fabrication assembly and welding took place. After the Sculpture was completely assembled the chasing of the metal and welds were completed. The finishing process of the Cor-Ten was applied and a wax sealant was applied.
