Overview
“Because of you” is made of welded stainless screws and hex nuts and is attached to a substructure that is mounted below the sidewalk pavers. It is 100 x 72 x 70 inches.
Goals
This commission for Georgia Tech University is based on the white blood cell, the macrophage. It is meant to be an homage to the biomedical researchers at the Engineered Biosystems Building who are working on cures for implacable diseases
Process
In this project, there was extensive collaboration with the Landscape Architect, Architect, and Art Consultant. I welded approximately four thousand screws and hex nuts over a substructure.
