Overview

Inspired by Italy's rich tradition of bold colors and graphics, “Bamboo” is a marriage of Sheng's Chinese heritage and her mastery of handmade Murano glass. The piece was awarded “Best Public Artwork” by Taiwan's Minister of Culture in 2007.

Goals

The goal was to blend Italian visuals with Chinese heritage and create a piece that was a unique and thoughtful combination of the two.

Process

We worked with the Venetian Glass Studio to make the Murano Glass used for the bamboo sculptures.
