Overview
Corten Steel and Bolts, 81’L x 25’H x 44’W. Commissioned by the Port of Portland and Portland Public Art, for the new Parking and Rental Car facility (PACR) at Portland International Airport (PDX)
Goals
The brief called for a large-scale, signature artwork to enhance the large island in the shuttle bus turnaround where travelers will be picked up or dropped off coming from or going to the rental car center. Atlas, simultaneously massive in scale, yet transparent, light, and airy forms a complex visual experience that celebrates arrival and departure.
