Overview
This mural project was commissioned to create a sense of space and wonder for the patients that are in the recovery rooms adjacent to the mural.
Goals
The goals of the artwork were to eliminate the look and feel of the brick that was installed and create a warm and inviting environment for the patients of Medford Aspirus surgery recovery rooms.
Process
Collaboration between myself as an artist, the hospital administration and the architect were vital in creating a mural that achieved the goals the hospital set out. Working with the architect allowed for the materials to be matched accordingly to the durability of the artwork.
Additional Information
I believe the importance of this mural was to allow for a more comfortable and peaceful space for the recovering patients at Medford. Rather than having an empty rood space, the hospital took it upon themselves to help integrate art and healing into their facility
