Overview
To provide a focal point of interest on the 20'ft high rock wall. The space below was specifically for the clients piano and we wanted to place another element with texture, color and light directly above the piano and to give another element of interest in the room.
Goals
The goals were to have a piece of art that was organic with texture and color that did not distract from other elements in the room but gives enough interest and a wow factor.
Process
The collaboration was between the artist, designer and client. We all wanted a very natural organic feel from the glass, wood and iron of the art. The size and dimensions were also agreed upon however we also wanted the artist to have some freedom and flexibility with creating the design. The client and the artist decided upon the colors and elements with some of the designers input and the designer thought the 3 pieces would work well because of the scale. During the installation the artist and designer liked the placement of the wall art with the clients approval.
