Overview

Selecting exceptional pieces of hardwoods sourced locally and adding value with phrases or words of sly, gentle humor. I do the selection, shaping of the boards and finishing. I job out the laser-engraving after carefully setting the type in an elegant font reminiscent of architectural friezes. Input from the client is encouraged to personalize the boards.

Goals

Words are what sets us apart from the crowd of breadboard and serving try makers.

Process

Communicating size, font and spacing is all-important to get exactly the look I'm after. First with my partner, who does the computer set-up and then with the engraver. When a client has ideas for personalizing a board, we go out of our way to make sure that they fit with the integrity of the board and still fulfill the client's vision.
