“Andrew Mynarski”, 2014. 5’x 3’x 5’, bronze. Life size commemorative bronze of WWII Victoria Cross recipient Andrew Mynarski; on granite base in Vimy Ridge Memorial Park, Winnipeg. “Never do we stand so tall as when we kneel to help another” is the theme of this sculpture that attempts to create a dynamic narrative of the Andrew Mynarski story within the context of military bronze tradition.
Goals
The goal was to 'bring home' a local military hero from WWII, and memorialize him in a public setting
Process
I worked with a volunteer committee, private funding and members of the military community to make this project happen
