Overview
These two pieces were made out of welded stainless steel bar and were installed on the Georgia Tech campus. Aceso is 62 x 74 x 75 inches. Iaso is 60 x 73 x 76 inches. The titles refer to the Greek Goddesses of health.
Goals
Both pieces are being made out of stainless steel bar and are based on the there blood cell, the macrophage.It is meant to be an homage to the biomedical researchers at the Engineered Biosystems Building who are working on cures for implacable diseases
Process
The process was an extensive collaborative effort between myself, the structural engineer, and the site architect. I welded several thousand 2 inch stainless steel bars were welded over a substructure.
