Overview
I was asked by the coastal city of Yantai, Shandong, China to make a proposal for a sculpture along the water front. I decided to make a fun sculpture that would make a pleasant surprise and discovery in context to the mountain and sea. The forms are contemporary and based on marine and nautical life. The polished stainless steel was painted in bright colors to engage the viewer like finding a shimmering form on the beach. Three different sizes were made with different combinations of color to add to the uniqueness. The sizes range from ; 120″x72x72″ to 72″x48″x48″ .
Goals
The goal was to make a fun sculpture that would attract the public, rather like finding a beautiful stone or shell on the beach

Everyone involved liked the idea which made the whole process very easy
