Receptor is a landscape sculpture for Patriot Ridge, a private office development for government contractors, adjacent to the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency in Springfield, VA. The NGA collects, analyzes, and distributes geospatial intelligence in support of national security. The NGA was formerly known as the National Imagery and Mapping Agency (NIMA).
The earthworks and their perimeter concrete seating bands create a linear topography that when viewed from the buildings above refers to this imaging and mapping process that can bring information from anywhere in the world through satellite imagery.
