Overview

Yale University hospital wanted a particular color pallet in a dynamic glass sculptural piece for their lobby entry desk area. The glass diameter is 34″, and the finished sculpture is 37″ x 43″. The base is steel.

Goals

The client's goals were wanting a welcoming, striking glass sculpture in the entry lobby area. The colors and visual glass textures were to match a hanging tapestry on an adjacent wall.

Process

I worked closely with the design consultant on how the art should look, and she ( and the client, Yale) monitored the progress of the artwork in process. I designed the steel base to gracefully, yet securely, hold the glass.
