Overview
New construction of the Ritz Carlton Orlando and later their expansion to Ritz Carlton Grande Lakes Orlando. Various locations throughout public areas were designated for artwork ranging from 30×40 inches to 5×7 feet.
Goals
The designer aimed to marry location features, emphasizing nearness to water and interior color schemes with commissioned art style/subject/color dominance.
Process
The designer worked with different art consultants for both construction projects, maintaining visual continuity between original design and subsequent expansion. The artist was selected for commission based on art consultant presentations of existing works by the artist. Color/fabric/paint/wallpaper swatches were sent to the artist as references for relating works to the site.
