Three 60' Identical Fabricated Sculptures 316L Stainless Steel designed by Artist John Safer. Metal Finish Polished Sides and Brushed Faces.
The envision of the MGM Resort and Casino was that they have a dynamic piece of Sculpture for the entry into the Hotel and Casino. Because of the size of the site artist John Safer chose one of his contemporary sculptures that he felt would be a great monumental sculpture that could be seen for miles.
A 3D Digital File was produced by a scan of the artist John Safer's original Model. The Engineers, ARUP, Inc. recommended that there be a wind tunnel test done. RWDI Inc. performed the wind tunnel testing and designed a damper system for ART Research to fabricate. ART Research did the fabrication by the engineer's calculations for designated points and space measurements. This was duplicated on all three sculptures. Throughout the process the artist and EKA Monumental Sculpture worked with ART Research and approved each sculpture. Once the sculpture was fabricated then the surfacing of the metal began by polishing the narrow sides and doing a brushed finish of the wide sides and the final process of pacification was done. Between Jim Beyer Architect from MGM, Mark Myers, art consultant and the artist input the sculptures were completed. ART Research designed a custom made lifting apparatus for each sculpture to be loaded on three tractor trailers for transport and assist in installing the Sculptures. The sculptures were transported to the building in Oxen Hill, MD. Crane Operator assisted ART Research in the placement of all three Sculptures with ART Research doing the final installation and cleaning of all three sculptures.

[ manifesto ]
Art matters. Attention to the details of our environment leads to love of place, which brings us to take responsibility for the spaces where we live and work. And by extension, the people with whom we live and work. And by extension, to our local communities, our cities, our nations, and our world.
We champion the role of artists in our society. We need artists to provide us with inspiration, creativity, and imagination, and to help us envision a better world.
Architects and designers know that remarkable design can change everything. They connect the dots across disciplines, collaborating with artists to make the world a more beautiful place. They are the ultimate patrons of the arts.
In the process, design professionals promote imagination and creativity, and through their commissions, make original art integral to and accessible in people's lives.
Art in our public and private spaces helps us fight ordinary buildings, ordinary streets, ordinary cities. We celebrate the extraordinary.
The architecture of our buildings and the design of our interiors affect our happiness and well-being. Each of us deserves a daily dose of inspiration.
